Verdict: ShopMy earns 4 out of 5 for creators who already recommend products and want one link tool, one payout and access to brand deals across thousands of retailers. It loses a point for two reasons. Its own help center describes the displayed commission rate in two different ways, and the money from a sale can sit pending for up to 120 days before it reaches you. This review is built from ShopMy's public Creator Guide and its App Store listing, both read on October 10, 2026. We have not run a creator account or tracked a live sale. Everything below is what ShopMy publishes about itself, and the rating reflects those documented terms. Key Takeaways:
  • ShopMy is invite based. Applications are reviewed in 3 to 5 business days, the typical bar is 1,000 followers, and a rejected creator can reapply after 90 days
  • ShopMy says "You keep 82% of commissions earned, ShopMy keeps 18%," and that some brands pay ShopMy directly so the creator keeps 100% of the rate shown
  • Payouts go out every Friday by Stripe or PayPal once confirmed earnings reach $11, but a commission stays pending for 30 to 120 days first
  • One help article says the displayed rate is exactly what you earn; another says it is the gross commission and your payout is your share. Check one order in your dashboard before you plan around the number
  • Every commission is a one-time payment on an order whose customer belongs to the retailer. Earning again means posting again
ShopMy is an affiliate and brand-partnership platform. A creator builds a digital storefront, turns product pages into commissionable links, and collects earnings from many retailers in one weekly payout. It also runs brand Opportunities, gifting requests and direct chat between creators and brands. ShopMy's own description says it was founded by "a group of MIT and Harvard technologists." Its tier page lists access to "millions of commissionable products" and "50,000+ merchant partners." The company is Shop My Shelf, Inc., which publishes the free ShopMy app on iPhone. On October 10 the app showed 4,125 ratings averaging 4.9 and version 3.0.2, released that same day. Getting in takes an application through the Creator Waitlist at shopmy.us/apply/creator. ShopMy says it looks at "follower count (typically 1,000+), evidence of product content, and audience engagement," and reviews each application case by case. A referral link from an existing creator adds context but does not guarantee approval. If you are turned down, the join FAQ says you can apply again after 90 days. That bar is low for anyone reading this blog. The more useful question is what happens after a follower clicks. ShopMy's revenue article gives two models. Under the standard one, the creator keeps 82% of commissions and ShopMy keeps 18%. Under the second, ShopMy charges the brand directly "based on the revenue you drive," and "nothing is deducted from your commission." Retailers set the rates themselves. The payment article puts the typical range at 10% to 30%. Commission is calculated on less than the price on the product page. According to ShopMy's article on lower-than-expected earnings, it applies to the order subtotal after discounts. Shipping and taxes are excluded. New and returning customers can earn different rates, and sale items, clearance and gift cards may be excluded entirely. Here is one $1,000 month of orders at a brand showing a 20% rate, with no discounts or returns:
Reading of the displayed 20%Gross commission on $1,000ShopMy keepsYou receive
Rate shown is already your sharenot statednot stated$200
Rate shown is gross, 82/18 split applies$200$36$164
Brand pays ShopMy directly$200$0 from you$200
The gap is $36 on $1,000, or 18% of everything you earn, which matters to any budget built on the displayed rate. The next section explains why the table needs two readings at all. ShopMy's help center describes the displayed rate in two ways. The revenue article says the commission rates on the platform "already reflect this split, so the rate displayed is exactly what you'll earn," and adds, "What you see is what you get." The article on lower-than-expected commission says "the advertised rate reflects the gross commission available on the sale. Your payout is your share of that commission, which you can see alongside each order in your dashboard."
Two passages from ShopMy's Creator Guide, captured October 10, 2026. One says the rates shown already reflect the 82/18 split and are exactly what you earn. The other says the advertised rate is the gross commission and your payout is your share
The two may describe different screens, such as a brand page and an order view, or different program types. ShopMy does not say which. So the honest instruction is the same one we gave in our Stan Store vs Linktree comparison, where one pricing page also listed two fees for one plan: get the fee line in writing. After your first locked order, compare the per-order payout in your dashboard against the rate you saw when you made the link. If the two differ by 18%, plan on the 82% figure. If they match, plan on the rate. Either way, ask creatorsupport@shopmy.us to confirm it for the specific brand you depend on most. ShopMy pays every Friday, through Stripe or PayPal, once at least $11 of confirmed earnings sits under "Next Payment." The wait comes before that. A commission stays pending until the retailer's return window closes, the transaction is verified and the retailer pays ShopMy. ShopMy says that typically takes 30 to 120 days, depending on the retailer. So a holiday gift guide posted on December 1 can pay out in early January, or it can pay out in April. That puts ShopMy in the slow half of the payers we compared in How Fast Do Creators Get Paid in 2026?, and close to YouTube's 60 to 120 day window for Amazon tags in our Amazon commission rate breakdown. Brand Opportunities run on different terms. The Opportunity payouts FAQ offers either a Same Week Payout, paid the Friday after you complete the requirements, or a Standard Payout after a stated waiting period. Terms lock when you accept, even if the brand later changes its settings. ShopMy notes that payout terms "reflect the brand's real time financial standing," so read the term before you say yes. A commission you can see is not yet a commission you have. ShopMy's reversal article lists returns and exchanges, cancellations, failed payments, self-purchases, suspected duplicates or fraud, and attribution the brand reassigns. It says these decisions are "at the brand or retailer's discretion" and that ShopMy "does not make or control commission reversals." Once an order has been paid out, it is not adjusted afterwards. Attribution has limits too. Cookie windows are set by each brand. ShopMy says they run from "a single browsing session" up to 30 days, with 7 days common, and most programs credit the last click. Another creator's link clicked later takes the sale, and a link click beats a discount code. Shoppers who decline cookies or switch devices may not track at all. Our guide to creator refunds and chargebacks covers the same problem on rails where you are the seller. Here you are not the seller, so you cannot even see the dispute. ShopMy sorts creators into four tiers: Enthusiast, Ambassador, Trendsetter and Icon. Each opens more brand access. Trendsetters can start brand chats and request gifting and discount codes, and Icons get priority recommendation for Opportunities. The scoring article scores creators out of 100. Ambassador starts at 30 points, Trendsetter at 70 and Icon at 85.
ShopMy's 100-point creator score by category: Monthly Order Volume 50 points, Monthly Traffic 25, Recent Activity 15 and Profile Completion 10, plus up to 20 bonus points from referrals. Tier thresholds sit at 30, 70 and 85
Profile Completion is worth 10 points and Recent Activity 15. The two heaviest categories look backward. Monthly Order Volume is worth 50 points, "calculated as your monthly average over the past 3 months," and Monthly Traffic is worth 25, averaged the same way on a scale from 0 to 10,000 clicks. Together that is 75 of the 100 points. A creator who takes a month off loses standing. ShopMy holds a new tier for at least 14 days "even through a short content break," which tells you the score expects you to keep posting. Referrals add up to 20 points, and the creator referral program pays up to $1,000 per referred creator: $20 at Ambassador, $80 at Trendsetter and $900 at Icon. That is a standard growth program, but it is the only recurring reward in the system that does not depend on your followers buying something this quarter. ShopMy does the job it describes, and it does it well. The trouble is the job itself. A commission is a one-time payment on someone else's sale, so the shopper's email, card and next purchase stay with the retailer, as they do on TikTok Shop. Next month starts again at zero, and the tier score is built to measure exactly that. Steven Rinella's company took the other route: MeatEater bought four gear brands, and 9 of the 14 products on his Whitetail Week list now come from the company. A product you own changes that arithmetic. Under Apple's Small Business Program, a developer earning under $1 million a year pays a 15% commission, so the business keeps 85% of every renewal, and the subscriber renews without another post. Affiliate links still have a place in that plan: they are a fine way to learn what your audience actually buys before you build anything. Built by Foundry builds and runs businesses with creators, with $0 upfront and a revenue share, so we have a commercial interest in this comparison. We think it holds up anyway. Use ShopMy for what it is good at, and read your own earnings report as market research. Use ShopMy if you already post product recommendations, you work across many retailers, and you want one Friday payout plus a route to paid brand Opportunities. The low entry bar and the shopper-facing app are real strengths. Plan around it carefully if you depend on cash timing. Budget on locked earnings, never on pending ones, and assume 120 days until a retailer proves otherwise. Verify one thing first: compare one locked order's payout with the rate you saw, and get the answer for your top brand from support in writing.
