1. Who We Are

Quiz Quest is an iOS mobile trivia game published by Built by Foundry, Inc. (FKA Playpen Games, Inc.). We are located at 2261 Market Street STE 86046, San Francisco, CA 94114.

2. How Quiz Quest Works

Quiz Quest is a social trivia game where players answer questions, move along a quest path, compete with friends, earn rewards, and may buy energy, Gems, Gold, cosmetics, or a subscription.

Quiz Quest creates an anonymous account when the App launches through Convex Auth. You do not need to provide an email address or password to start playing.

• To operate the game, save progress, run matches, manage friends, deliver rewards, and maintain account state.
• To process purchases, subscriptions, entitlements, receipts, fraud checks, refunds, taxes, and customer support.
• To provide optional Facebook friend matching and remove Facebook links when you disconnect.
• To show ads, control ad frequency, reward ad views, and measure aggregate ad performance.
• To understand crashes, funnels, retention, purchases, feature use, and gameplay quality.
• To send optional notifications about energy refills, friend activity, events, and service messages.
• To enforce our Terms, prevent cheating, protect the service, and comply with law.

5. Legal Bases

Our legal bases include contract performance, legitimate interests, consent, and legal obligation.

• Contract performance: creating and maintaining your account, saving progress, delivering game features, processing purchases, providing subscriptions, honoring entitlements, and responding to support.
• Legitimate interests: analytics, product improvement, security, fraud prevention, moderation, service reliability, and aggregate measurement.
• Consent: App Tracking Transparency choices, personalized advertising where required, optional push notifications, and optional Facebook Connect.
• Legal obligation: tax, accounting, consumer protection, payment compliance, dispute handling, and lawful requests.

6. Service Providers

We use service providers to operate Quiz Quest. They may process information only for the purposes we authorize, subject to their own legal terms and our agreements where applicable.

• Apple: App Store, StoreKit, purchase processing, subscription management, refunds, and App Store account controls. Quiz Quest does not use Game Center.
• Google: AdMob ad serving, rewarded ads, interstitial ads, and aggregated ad measurement.
• Meta and Facebook: Graph API friend matching through public_profile and user_friends.
• Convex: backend services, Convex Auth, database, and US hosted application infrastructure.
• RevenueCat: receipt validation, purchase status, subscription status, entitlements, and virtual currency support.
• PostHog: product analytics in the US region.
• Expo: push notification delivery and mobile app infrastructure.
• Sentry or an equivalent provider: crash reporting may be added later if needed to diagnose errors and improve reliability.

7. Sharing

We do not sell your name, email, or gameplay profile. We also do not collect email addresses for anonymous players unless you contact support.

When ATT permission is granted, personalized ads through AdMob may involve identifiers used for advertising and measurement. Some laws may call that sharing. You can decline ATT permission and still use the App.

We may disclose information to service providers, to comply with law, to enforce our rights, in connection with a business transaction, or with your consent.

8. Data Retention

We keep information for as long as reasonably needed to operate Quiz Quest, maintain accounts, provide support, prevent abuse, comply with law, and protect our rights.

• Active account and gameplay data is kept while the account is active.
• Facebook ID and matched friend links are deleted from active systems when you disconnect Facebook or delete your account.
• Purchase, receipt, refund, tax, and accounting records may be kept for up to 7 years where required for US IRS, tax, audit, payment, and legal obligations.
• Aggregated analytics that no longer identifies a player may be kept for product measurement.
• Backups may persist for a limited period before scheduled deletion.

9. Account Deletion

You can request account deletion inside the App at Me > Settings > Delete Account. You can also use our web deletion instructions at /data-deletion if you no longer have the App installed.

Deletion requests may be sent to privacy@builtbyfoundry.io. We delete eligible account data from active systems within 30 days after we verify and process the request.

10. California Privacy Rights

California residents may request to know, access, delete, correct, and receive information about categories of personal information collected, sources, purposes, disclosures, and categories of recipients. California residents may also opt out of sale or sharing where applicable, limit certain sensitive personal information uses where applicable, and use an authorized agent.

We respond to verified California requests within 45 days unless a permitted extension applies. Send requests to privacy@builtbyfoundry.io. We do not discriminate against users for exercising privacy rights.

11. EU and UK Privacy Rights

If EU GDPR or UK GDPR applies, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and objection. You may withdraw consent where processing depends on consent, and you may complain to your local supervisory authority.

We respond to EU and UK privacy requests within 30 days unless a lawful extension applies. Send requests to privacy@builtbyfoundry.io.

12. Children

Quiz Quest is rated 12+ and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 provided information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

13. Security and International Processing

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No system is perfect, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Quiz Quest is operated from the United States and uses providers that may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate transfer safeguards.

14. Changes and Contact

We may update this Privacy Policy as the App changes. The Last Updated date shows when the policy last changed. Material changes may be announced in the App or by another reasonable method.
