Freeze Dry Buddy Cookbook Preorder Terms

These Preorder Terms apply to direct preorders for The Freeze Dry Buddy Cookbook: Founding Edition (the “Book”) sold by Built by Foundry, Inc., a Delaware corporation formerly known as Playpen Games, Inc. (“Foundry,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By placing a preorder, you agree to these terms and the terms presented at checkout.
1. Your preorder and payment.
Your card or other payment method may be charged when you place the preorder. A preorder reserves a copy but is not a completed shipment. We may use preorder funds for production, fulfillment, taxes, customer support, and refunds. Your order confirmation will show the price, shipping charge, tax, delivery address, and current shipping estimate.
2. Production threshold and cancellation.
The Book is planned for production after the production gate above and physical proof approval. We may proceed below the stated preorder count. If we decide not to produce the Book, we will cancel unfulfilled direct preorders and promptly refund the amount paid to the original payment method. No customer action is required for a production-cancellation refund.
3. Shipping estimate and delays.
We will maintain a reasonable basis for the shipping date stated at checkout. If we learn that we cannot ship by that date, we will send a delay notice with a revised date and explain your options. You may consent to the delay or cancel the unshipped order for a prompt full refund. If your consent is required and you do not consent, we will cancel and refund the order as required by applicable law.
4. Customer cancellation before shipment.
You may cancel an unshipped direct preorder at any time by contacting cookbook@freezedrybuddy.com with your order number and the purchaser email. We will refund the canceled unshipped order to the original payment method. Bank or card posting time is controlled by the payment provider.
5. Product development and reasonable changes.
The cover, title treatment, exact page count, binding details, paper, photography, illustrations, recipe selection, companion presentation, packaging, and production vendor may change before production. We will not knowingly make a material reduction to the Book’s overall value or customer-facing promise without notifying affected preorder customers and offering a cancellation and refund option before shipment when appropriate.
6. Shipping charges, addresses, and delivery.
Shipping charges are shown at checkout. You are responsible for providing a complete, accurate, deliverable address and promptly reporting changes before fulfillment begins. We may charge additional postage for a customer-requested address correction or reshipment after fulfillment begins. We will replace or refund a copy that is lost in transit, materially damaged, defective, or incorrect, subject to reasonable order and delivery verification.
7. Returns after delivery.
You may request a return of an unused Book in resaleable condition within 30 days after delivery. Unless the Book is damaged, defective, incorrect, or we made the error, you are responsible for return shipping and original shipping charges are not refundable. Contact support before returning a Book so we can provide the correct return instructions and address. This policy does not limit rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
8. Companion benefit.
The intended companion offer is described above. It may be limited to new or otherwise eligible users, devices, countries, app-store accounts, or redemption periods. We may replace it with a substantially equivalent compliant benefit if platform rules, eligibility, or technical availability prevent the stated offer. Do not purchase the Book solely for a specific digital redemption mechanism unless the checkout page confirms your eligibility.
9. Educational content and safe use.
The Book provides general educational information. Freeze drying, food preparation, storage, and rehydration require appropriate equipment, sanitation, ingredient awareness, and judgment. Follow the equipment manufacturer’s instructions, applicable food-safety guidance, and any warnings in the Book. The Book is not medical advice and does not guarantee safety, shelf life, or a particular result.
10. Taxes, promotions, and resale.
Applicable taxes are calculated at checkout or handled by the relevant marketplace. Promotions and discount codes may have separate eligibility and expiration terms. A preorder is for personal or authorized business use and may not be placed using fraud, automated abuse, stolen payment information, or unlawful resale activity.
11. Privacy and communications.
We use order and contact information to process payment, produce and fulfill the Book, provide support, prevent fraud, comply with law, and send transactional preorder and shipping updates. A Book purchase does not by itself enroll you in unrelated marketing. Our posted privacy notice applies to personal information used in connection with your preorder.
12. Limits and nonwaivable rights.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Foundry is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from delay, platform availability, or use of the Book. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or customer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Our maximum direct liability for a preorder claim will not exceed the amount paid for the affected order, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
13. Changes to these terms.
The version accepted at checkout governs your preorder. We may update these terms prospectively for future orders. We may also make changes reasonably necessary for law, safety, or customer remedies, but we will not retroactively remove a material right from an existing preorder without your consent where consent is required.
14. Governing law and contact.
Delaware law governs these terms, except that mandatory consumer-protection law in your home jurisdiction continues to apply.
