What is Vector Guard?Vector Guard is an AI-assisted vector identification app. It helps identify ticks, mosquitoes, and other disease-carrying vectors and provides educational prevention guidance.
Who created Vector Guard?Vector Guard was created with Ellie Fausett, a UC San Diego public health researcher, and built by Foundry.
Which devices does Vector Guard support?Vector Guard is available for iPhone through the Apple App Store.
Identification
How do I get the best identification result?Use a clear, well-lit, close-up photo. Keep the vector in focus, avoid heavy shadow, and include enough of the body for the model to compare visible features.
How accurate is the AI identification?Accuracy depends on photo quality and available reference data. Treat results as identification assistance, not a medical or public health determination.
What vectors can it identify?Vector Guard focuses on ticks, mosquitoes, and other disease-carrying vectors, with educational information about associated diseases and prevention steps.
Safety and Medical Questions
Can Vector Guard tell me if I have a disease? No. Vector Guard does not diagnose disease. If you have symptoms, a concerning bite, or urgent health concerns, contact a qualified healthcare professional.
Where does the prevention information come from? The app is designed around trusted scientific and public health sources such as CDC guidance and other educational references.
Troubleshooting and Billing
Can I use Vector Guard offline?Recent information may be available in the app, but full AI identification and current local activity context require an internet connection.
How do I cancel a subscription?Open iPhone Settings, tap your name at the top, tap Subscriptions, choose Vector Guard, and tap Cancel. You keep access until the end of the period already paid for.
