• Photos you take or select for vector identification
• Account information if you create an account
• Support requests, feedback, and any information you include in those messages
• Saved identification history and notes if those features are enabled in your version of the App2.2 Automatically Collected Information
• Device and app information: device type, operating system, app version, language settings
• Usage analytics: screens viewed, features used, identification attempts, and session events
• Crash and error diagnostics used to fix bugs
• Subscription state returned by our billing providers to unlock paid features2.3 Location Data
If you enable location services, the App may use approximate or precise location to provide local vector activity context, map observations, or prevention recommendations. You can disable location access at any time in your device settings.2.4 AI Identification
When you submit a photo for identification, the App uploads the photo to our backend and AI providers so the App can return likely vector information and educational context. Please avoid submitting photos that contain unnecessary sensitive personal information.3. How We Use Your Information
• Provide vector identification and educational safety context
• Show prevention guidance and first-aid information
• Provide local or seasonal vector activity context when location features are enabled
• Authenticate accounts, restore access, and process subscriptions
• Monitor product performance, debug issues, and improve the App
• Respond to support requests and feedback
• Detect abuse, enforce our terms, and comply with legal obligations4. Third-Party Service Providers
We share limited data with service providers to operate the App. All are contractually required to protect your data and use it only as we instruct.Infrastructure and Authentication: Cloud, database, storage, and authentication providers used to operate the App and store account or app data.AI Inference: AI providers used to analyze submitted photos and return identification assistance. Data is used to generate your result and operate the App.Subscriptions and Payments: RevenueCat for subscription management. Apple App Store for payment processing. Apple handles refunds.Analytics and Diagnostics: Analytics and crash-reporting providers used to understand product usage, diagnose issues, and improve reliability.Scientific and Public Data Sources: The App may reference public or scientific sources such as iNaturalist, CDC, Wikipedia, VectorBase, WHO, or PubMed to provide educational context.We Never Sell Your Data. The App is hosted in the United States. If you access from other regions, your data is transferred to and processed in the US.EU/UK Users: We use Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission and Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) with all processors. All transfers are encrypted. You can request copies of our SCCs by contacting privacy@builtbyfoundry.io.6. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain data only as long as necessary or required by law.While your account is active: account information, subscription state, support messages, and saved identification data are retained as long as needed to operate the App.Photos and AI requests: submitted photos are retained only as long as needed to provide the service, improve reliability, detect abuse, comply with legal obligations, or honor deletion requests under the policies of our processors.After account deletion: we remove or de-identify active account data within 30 days where legally permitted. Backup copies are purged within 90 days.Other retention periods: analytics events may be retained up to 26 months, crash reports up to 90 days, support tickets up to 3 years, and subscription or tax records up to 7 years where required by law.7. We may update this policy to reflect new features or legal requirements. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification 30 days before taking effect. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
