What is Taiyaar?Taiyaar is a swipe-style discovery app for South Asian outfits, curated by Tavi Gandhi. You swipe through looks Tavi has hand-picked, save the ones you love to event-specific boards, and tap through to retailers that ship to your country.
Is Taiyaar free?Yes. Taiyaar V1 is free to download and use. There are no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, and no paid feature gates in this version.
Do I need an account?No. Taiyaar V1 has no user accounts and no sign-in. You use the entire App anonymously.
Which devices does Taiyaar support?Taiyaar runs on iPhone and iPad on recent versions of iOS. The web is not currently supported.
Which countries can it ship to?Today the swipe feed surfaces vendors that ship to India, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United Arab Emirates. You pick your country during onboarding and can change it any time from your profile.
Swiping and Boards
How does the swipe feed work?The feed shows one look at a time. Swipe right to save, swipe left to skip, and tap a look to see the detail page and the vendor link. The more you swipe, the better the feed gets at picking what you'll like.
Where do the looks come from?Tavi Gandhi reviews and curates every look that appears in Taiyaar. The catalog is sourced from third-party South Asian fashion retailers; Tavi picks the pieces she'd actually recommend, writes the "why it works" notes, and decides what makes the cut.
What is a board?A board is a labeled collection of saved looks for a specific event — sangeet, mehndi, reception, your friend's engagement, your brother's wedding. When you save a look, you can drop it onto an existing board or start a new one with its own label.
Can a saved look live on more than one board?Yes. The same lehenga can sit on your sangeet board and your reception inspiration board at the same time. Saving and unsaving on a board doesn't affect any other board.
Can I see looks I've already swiped on?Saved looks live in the Saved tab, organized by board. Skipped looks aren't shown again right away — the feed prioritizes new options instead.
How do I change my size or country later?Open Profile and tap Edit Preferences. You can update your country, size band, modesty, sleeve, and silhouette preferences any time. The feed updates immediately.
Sizing and Shipping
How does Taiyaar know what ships to me?During onboarding you choose your country, and from then on the feed only surfaces vendors that ship there. If a look in your saved board becomes unavailable for your country, the App tells you on the look detail screen.
Does Taiyaar handle the order?No. When you tap the vendor link, you go to the retailer's website and complete the order with them directly. They handle payment, shipping, customs, returns, and customer support.
What happens with customs and duties?Customs and duties depend on your country, the retailer's shipping method, and the order value. They are charged by your local customs authority, not by the retailer or by Foundry. Check the retailer's shipping FAQ for guidance.
Privacy and Data
What data does Taiyaar collect?Onboarding answers (occasion, country, size, style preferences), the looks you save and skip, the boards and labels you create, basic device and app info, and crash reports. We do not collect your name, email, phone number, precise location, or contacts. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.
Does Taiyaar track my location?No. The App does not request precise location, does not include any location-tracking SDK, and does not run in the background to collect location. Your country setting is something you choose during onboarding and can change any time.
Who owns my swipe data?Foundry. Your swipe activity, saved boards, and preferences are how we tune the feed and inform Tavi's curation. We treat that data as ours to use for any lawful business purpose, including improving the App and creating aggregated insights. We do not sell identifiable personal information.
How do I delete my data?Because Taiyaar V1 has no user accounts, we identify your data on our servers by an anonymous device-installation identifier shown at the bottom of the Profile screen. Email that identifier to privacy@builtbyfoundry.io and we will remove or de-identify the matching records within 30 days. Backups purged within 90 days. If you simply delete the App from your device, the locally stored data goes with it.
How do I exercise my privacy rights (GDPR / CCPA)?Email privacy@builtbyfoundry.io and tell us what you'd like to do — access, correct, delete, port, restrict, or object to processing. We will respond within the timelines required by applicable law.
Troubleshooting
The vendor link is broken or the look is sold out.Catalog stock changes constantly on the retailer side. If a look you love is sold out, similar pieces often appear in your feed within a day or two. Email us if a vendor link is consistently broken and we'll fix it on our side.
The App is crashing.Make sure you are on the latest version from the App Store and restart your device. If the crash persists, email us with your device model, iOS version, and what you were doing right before the crash.
I can't find a feedback path inside the App.Open Profile and tap Send Feedback. That opens an email to hello@taiyaar.app with your device and app version pre-filled.
