What is Rethread?Rethread is a thrift-flip studio in your pocket. You photograph any garment, the App returns three creative flip ideas in Cait Conquers' voice, and you tap into one to get a step-by-step plan with Cait's real tutorial clips threaded into every step.
Do I need an account to use Rethread?No. You can run a free scan and see your three flip ideas without signing in. Sign in with Apple is optional and lets us save your workbench, restore your data if you reinstall, and identify you for support.
Which devices does Rethread support?Rethread runs on iPhone on recent versions of iOS. iPad and Android are not currently supported.
Scanning and Flip Ideas
What kind of photo should I take?Lay the garment flat in good daylight, fill the frame, and keep the photo in focus. The App reads fabric, panels, closures, and silhouette better when the garment is uncluttered. A plain background helps but isn't required.
Why three flip ideas?Every scan returns one safe flip, one of Cait's signature moves, and one stretch-goal flip. The mix is intentional — there should always be at least one option you'd actually want to make tonight.
Can I use Rethread offline?No. Generating flip ideas and step-by-step plans requires an internet connection because the App sends the photo to our AI providers for analysis.
Why does the plan take 20 to 60 seconds to generate?Each plan is written fresh for your specific garment and the flip you picked, in Cait's voice. We don't ship canned plans. Hang tight while we draft it.
Step-by-Step Plans and Cait's Tutorials
How do Cait's tutorial videos work?Each step in your plan is tagged with a sewing technique. We match that technique to one of Cait's real TikTok tutorials and play it inline, auto-trimmed to the moment she demonstrates the move. Her full library covers most common techniques; if a step doesn't have a tutorial yet, the App honestly says so.
Why does a step say 'Cait's filming this clip soon'?We didn't have a Cait video in our library that demonstrates that specific technique well, so we'd rather show you that label than play a misleading clip. Cait is filming custom clips to fill these gaps as we go.
Can I bookmark a flip and come back to it?Yes. Tap the bookmark icon on a flip card or on the plan screen, and it lands in your workbench with the original photo. Reopen it any time to pick up where you left off.
Pro Subscription and Billing
What does Rethread Pro unlock?Pro unlocks unlimited scans, your saved-flip workbench, and access to Cait's full tutorial library across every step. Your first scan is free for everyone.
How do I cancel my subscription?Open iPhone Settings, tap your name at the top, tap Subscriptions, tap Rethread, and tap Cancel. You keep Pro access until the end of the period you already paid for.
How do I get a refund?Apple handles all refunds for App Store purchases. Request a refund at https://reportaproblem.apple.com/. Foundry cannot issue App Store refunds directly.
I paid but don't see Pro features.In the App, open Settings and tap Restore Purchases. If that does not work, please email hello@builtbyfoundry.io with your App Store email and we will investigate.
Privacy and Data
Are my photos used to train AI?No. Under our API agreements with our AI providers, prompts and photos submitted through the API are not used to train their foundation models. Your photos are used to generate your flip ideas and plan only.
How do I delete my account and data?Email privacy@builtbyfoundry.io from the address tied to your account and we will remove or de-identify your active data within 30 days. Backups are purged within 90 days. Subscription and tax records may be retained where required by law.
Can I download Cait's tutorials for offline use?No. Cait's tutorials are licensed for in-app playback only. They are her creative work, and downloading or rehosting them outside the App is not permitted.
Troubleshooting
The scan failed or timed out.Check your internet connection, kill the app from the app switcher, reopen it, and try again. If the failure keeps happening, email hello@builtbyfoundry.io with the approximate time of the failure and a short description of what you saw.
The plan is taking forever.Plans typically take 20 to 60 seconds to generate. If you're past two minutes with no progress, kill the app, reopen it, and tap into the same flip again — your scan is saved and the plan will retry.
The App is crashing.Make sure you are on the latest version from the App Store and restart your device. If the crash persists, email us with your device model, iOS version, and what you were doing right before the crash.
