Garden-to-Table Companion help

Practical answers for your garden plan, Plant Health, Kitchen, account, and subscription. We respond in one to two business days when you need a person.

Getting Started

What is Garden-to-Table Companion? It is a garden-first companion built with Matthew Gauger. Tell it where and how you grow, add your plants, and use Today for the next timely actions. Plant Health helps when something looks wrong, while Kitchen helps you use and preserve the harvest.
How do I get a useful plan?Complete garden setup with your location, growing conditions, and the plants you grow. You can add more plants from My Garden or Grow Guides. Today then uses that context to surface relevant actions.
Do I need an account? You can begin with an anonymous account. Sign in with Apple or Google to keep supported account data available after a reinstall or when moving to another phone.
Which devices are supported? The App supports current iPhone and Android phones. Install the latest store version for the best results.

Today, My Garden, and Watering

What belongs on Today?Today shows timely work for plants in your garden. Complete an action when it is done and use the garden history when you need to remember what happened.
How do I add another plant?Open My Garden and choose Add plants, or open Grow Guides and add a crop from its guide. It will join your garden plan and future actions.
I use irrigation. Can I turn off watering reminders?Yes. Choose I use irrigation during setup or in Settings. You can also choose no watering reminders. Either choice suppresses irrelevant watering tasks and notifications while keeping manual garden logging available.

Plant Health

How do I make a useful Plant Health check?Start with a sharp photo of the whole plant, then add a close photo of the affected area when asked. Confirm the plant and describe the symptoms, timing, and anything that recently changed. Better evidence produces a more useful result.
Does Plant Health guarantee a diagnosis? No. Plant Health does not guarantee a diagnosis, identification, cure, or outcome. It can show uncertainty, ask for more information, or say there is not enough evidence. Use a local extension service or qualified professional when the risk is significant, and always follow the product label and local rules for treatments.
Who can see my Plant Health photos?Plant Health photos are private to your account and stored in protected storage. When automated analysis is available and you request it, the selected photos and relevant symptoms are sent through OpenRouter to Google Gemini with zero data retention and provider data collection disabled. They are not published to the Kitchen Table. Authorized reviewers only use a check in a private evaluation set if you separately turn on evaluation consent.
What does evaluation consent mean?It lets authorized reviewers privately label that check so Foundry can measure Plant Health accuracy and safety. It is optional, off by default, and not permission to use your photo in advertising or public content.

Kitchen and Community

Why is Kitchen in a gardening app?Kitchen is the payoff for what you grow. It brings together recipes, your cookbook, harvest pantry, preservation ideas, and the Kitchen Table without competing with the main garden experience.
What is public in the Kitchen Table?Posts, photos, display name, replies, and cheers you deliberately publish to the Kitchen Table are visible to other members. Private recipes, pantry entries, garden details, and Plant Health checks are not automatically posted there.
How do I report unsafe content?Use the report option on a post or comment. We review reports and remove content that violates the community rules.

Companion Plus and Billing

What does Companion Plus unlock? The first complete guided Plant Health check is free. Companion Plus unlocks unlimited guided Plant Health checks, the full recipe library, and unlimited Kitchen Table posts. Saved Plant Health results and follow-ups remain available after a check. The exact benefits shown before purchase control.
How do I cancel? On iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, and select Garden-to-Table Companion. On Android, open Google Play, tap your profile, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Access continues through the paid period.
I paid but Plus is still locked.Open the App's settings and choose Restore Purchases. If access is still missing, email support@builtbyfoundry.io with the store account email and the approximate purchase time. Do not send card details.
How do I request a refund?Apple and Google handle refunds for their store purchases. Use reportaproblem.apple.com for Apple or the Google Play purchase history for Google. Foundry cannot issue a store refund directly.

Seed Offers, Privacy, and Data

Why does a seed offer say affiliate?Foundry or Greenhorn Grove may earn a commission if you buy through a clearly labeled link. Supplier payment does not change Grow Guide or Plant Health advice. The supplier controls price, stock, shipping, and returns.
Does the App use analytics?Yes. PostHog records product events such as setup, screens, garden actions, Plant Health flow steps, paywall views, and subscription events so we can improve activation and reliability. It is not used for advertising, is not sold, and does not track you across unrelated companies' apps.
How do I delete my account and data?Email privacy@builtbyfoundry.io from the address tied to your account. We remove or de-identify active account data within 30 days and purge backups within 90 days, subject to records we must retain by law.

Troubleshooting

My reminders are not firing.Check the watering mode in the App, then confirm notifications are allowed in device settings. Irrigation and no-reminder modes intentionally suppress watering notifications.
A Plant Health upload failed.Confirm you are online, keep the App open while the photo uploads, and try a sharp image with good light. If it repeatedly fails, email support with your device model and the time of the attempt, but do not email a private plant photo unless support asks for it.
The App is crashing.Update to the latest store version and restart the device. If it continues, email your device model, OS version, App version, and the action immediately before the crash.

Still stuck?
